Hello I’m Pyae, the founder and owner of My Valet Ltd. I am the 10th of 10 children from a rural village near Magway in Burma. We farm peanuts, rice, mangoes and sesame and we have a cow to grind the sesame oil and travel to the nearest town.
I left school aged 12 to support my family and have had many jobs including selling flowers, construction work, photocopy shop, rickshaw bicycle rider, chef for 50 Buddhist monks when I lived in a monastery, a tour guide when I slept in the luggage hold of the bus and, most recently, housekeeping in 5* hotels in Burma and Bath. I setup My Valet in April 2025.
Hello I’m Tom and I am working part time in My Valet as Pyae’s first member of staff. I grew up near Reading and moved to Bath in 2013 to read biology at university. After I graduated I worked as a laboratory technician before moving to Norwich to study for a PhD in plant sciences and subsequently worked as a research scientist.
I recently moved back to Bath to be with my partner and we are currently renovating our home. We are both plant mad and also have a pet gecko and pet tortoise! I am a very keen gardener and particularly enjoy growing my own veg. I am also passionate about cooking, home brewing, nature and the environment! I am friendly and welcoming and love meeting new people.
Hello I’m David, a Director of My Valet Ltd. After doing research in entomology and a period teaching biology & psychology in independent schools, I have founded and run several businesses including Examboost, Rutland Telecom (now Gigaclear), Edgy Productions and Freedom Canal Studio. I have 3 adult sons, 2 living in Vietnam. I love swimming and playing the piano. I live with Pyae on our canal boat in Bath where we host B&B guests.
